Australian Grand Prix
The season opener. Albert Park circuit winds through a lakeside park in the heart of Melbourne — one of the world's most liveable cities. The Australian GP has an energy unlike any other round: the first race of the year, the first time the new cars are seen at full speed, and Melbourne at its absolute best in late summer.
Japanese Grand Prix
Suzuka is one of the great circuits. The figure-of-eight layout, the Esses, Degner, the Hairpin, 130R, the Casio Triangle — it is a driver's circuit in the truest sense. The Japanese fans are the most passionate and knowledgeable in the sport. Combine it with Kyoto, Osaka, and the Japanese countryside in spring.
Monaco Grand Prix
The jewel of the Formula 1 calendar. Monaco is not the fastest circuit, not the most overtaking, but it is the most prestigious race in the world. The barriers are inches from the cars. The yachts fill the harbour. The Casino Square grandstand is the most famous seat in motorsport. This is the one every driver wants to win.
Canadian Grand Prix
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve sits on an island in the St Lawrence River in the heart of Montréal. It is one of the fastest and most exciting circuits on the calendar — the Wall of Champions at the final chicane has claimed more champions than any other barrier in the sport. Montréal in June is one of the great cities at one of the great times of year.
British Grand Prix
Silverstone is the home of British motorsport. Copse, Maggotts, Becketts, Chapel — the fastest sequence of corners in Formula 1. The British GP crowd is the most knowledgeable and passionate on the calendar. Combine it with the English countryside, the Cotswolds, and a proper British summer.
Italian Grand Prix
Monza is the Temple of Speed. The fastest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar — average speeds above 260km/h. The Tifosi fill the grandstands in red. The Parabolica, the Lesmo corners, the old banked circuit still visible through the trees. Combine it with Milan, Lake Como, and the Italian Lakes in late summer.
Azerbaijan Grand Prix
The Baku City Circuit is one of the most dramatic street circuits in the world. The castle section — a narrow, twisting run through the old city walls — is unlike anything else in Formula 1. The long straight along the Caspian Sea produces some of the highest speeds on the calendar. Baku is a city of contrasts: ancient and ultra-modern, East and West.
Singapore Grand Prix
The Singapore Grand Prix is the original Formula 1 night race. The Marina Bay Street Circuit runs through the heart of the city — past the Fullerton Hotel, under the Anderson Bridge, around Marina Bay itself. The city lights reflect off the track. The heat and humidity are part of the experience. Singapore is one of the world's great food cities.
United States Grand Prix
The Circuit of the Americas was purpose-built for Formula 1 and it shows. Turn 1 — a steep uphill climb into a hairpin — is one of the most dramatic corners on the calendar. The COTA crowd is one of the most enthusiastic in the sport. Austin is a city of live music, great food, and Texas hospitality.
Mexico City Grand Prix
The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez sits at 2,285 metres above sea level — the highest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar. The thin air means the cars run maximum downforce and the engines work harder than anywhere else. The stadium section through the old baseball ground is one of the great spectacles in the sport. Mexico City is one of the world's great cities.
